The AERO Gatineau-Ottawa non-profit organization is comprised of nearly 400 volunteers, between ages 14 and 84! No matter which role you choose, every volunteer’s contribution makes the airshow possible. With a variety of roles to fill, there truly is something for everyone.

Below are a few volunteering areas where
opportunities will be available in 2026.

Gates / Admissions
As part of the Gates team, you will be one of the first airshow ambassadors our guests meet. With a friendly smile and a welcoming attitude, you will help scan tickets and guide visitors smoothly into the show. Your role helps set the tone for an exciting day at the airshow while keeping entry moving quickly and efficiently.

Operations
Operations volunteers are the problem solvers who help keep the airshow running smoothly.
Duties may include:

  • Event setup and tear-down
  • Delivering supplies across the show site
  • Supporting logistics throughout the grounds
  • Specialized equipment handling

Ideal for the for the volunteer who enjoys variety, working with equipment and materials, and being part of the action behind the scenes.

Hospitality / Guest Experience
Our Hospitality and Guest Experience volunteers help create a first-class experience for guests, VIPs, volunteers, and performers.
Duties may include:

  • Monitoring specific activity areas
  • Providing Info and support at Customer Service points
  • Welcoming guests into reserved seating areas
  • Assisting with beverage service
  • Clearing tables and maintaining tidy seating areas
  • Helping monitor food service
  • Ensuring hospitality tents remain welcoming and organized

Volunteer Support

The Volunteer Support team is the go-squad caring for our hard-working volunteers!
Tasks include:

  • greeting fellow volunteers as they arrive
  • performing check-in/confirming waivers and info
  • distributing any required supplies
  • sending volunteers off to their assigned teams
  • signing out volunteer meals and refreshments
  • helping ensure everyone stays energized throughout the event

What Can You Expect as a Volunteer?

Expect an exciting, fast-paced weekend supporting aviation and the community. Your participation helps keep the event safe, organized, and enjoyable for thousands of spectators.

  • Most positions are based at the airfield of CYND- Gatineau Executive Airport.
  • All positions are outdoors and most are standing/walking roles with some sitting
  • 90% of volunteer shifts are on Sept 17th to 20th, and 10% of shifts are before or after the show (between 13 and 22 Sept)
  • Volunteers must be 14+ to apply
  • Volunteers who are able to register for shifts on two or more days will be prioritized. Shifts will be available between 13 and 21 September 2026.
  • The visiting public is bilingual [French/English] so speaking both is an asset
  • Some areas may require proof of license, certification, or a background check
  • Each volunteer once accepted will sign an offer of service letter, and receive the coveted 2026 Volunteer T-Shirt
  • Pre-show orientation and team-building days will take place near the end of August
  • Post-show recognition event will take place in October
