The Virtual Snowbirds Are Coming to Aero Gatineau!

Who are the Virtual Snowbirds, you may be asking?

They are a team of dedicated flight simulator enthusiasts who recreate the precision and excitement of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds using Digital Combat Simulator (DCS).

This year, they’re bringing three Virtual Reality simulators to Aero Gatineau-Ottawa, with special activities running all weekend. The team is made up of a diverse group of members — from currently serving and retired Canadian Forces personnel, civilian air traffic controllers, student pilots, and commercial flight instructors, to military contract flight instructors and passionate aviation fans.

All events are open to airshow patrons free of charge!

Feel the raw power of the CF-18 Hornet and test your skill at aerial refueling from a CC-130 Hercules tanker — just like our RCAF CF-18 pilots do.

Step back in time and fly virtual replicas of the legendary Supermarine Spitfire and North American P-51D Mustang.
