Getting there is part of the fun!

In the seven years Aero Gatineau-Ottawa has been operating, it has grown in size and stature. We have become one of the major airshows in North America, and we are recognised as such by performers and public alike. At the same time, this has created challenges for us as organisers.

The Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport is a small airport, unlike the international or military locations of some of our peers. On the one hand this has allowed us to maintain the “up close and personal” atmosphere that is unique to our show – nowhere else can you get so near to the planes, pilots and performances. On the other hand, we are increasingly constrained in the available space on and around the airport, while accommodating our increasing numbers of visitors.
Last year with the intense rain, we reached the limits of our present arrangements, and it became clear we need a major rethink of our handling of the traffic and visitors. We have examined all the alternatives, consulted with other event organisers, parking specialists and the airshow industry. The answers all point in the same direction.

Simpler, closer to you!

For upcoming events, visitors and families will benefit from parking at several convenient locations around the airport, various locations in Gatineau and possibly Ottawa, and provide expeditious shuttle service to and from the show. Despite inflationary pressures, we will continue to offer free parking and shuttles with no increase in ticket prices. Prior to the show, you will have the opportunity to select and reserve your preferred location. We will specifically address the needs of handicapped visitors. Necessary personnel will still park at the airport; staff, performers, volunteers, media, diplomats, etc.

On the field, we have upgraded all the prime facilities to ensure we are better able to address any inclement weather. Flightline Clubs will see substantial upgrades, with more detailed information coming soon.We continue to improve on-field communications and information sharing with you.
