The Friday evening show makes a return

Aero Gatineau-Ottawa celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force from September 6 to 8, 2024

Gatineau-Ottawa, March 20, 2024 – From September 6 to 8, 2024, all eyes will be on the skies over the Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport for the largest air show in the history of Canada’s Capital Region. Over those three days, the region will feel the rumblings of high-speed flypasts by three international aerial demonstration teams: the Snowbirds, Thunderbirds and Red Arrows.

These performances will be enhanced by breathtaking aerobatic demonstrations and flyovers from current and historic military aircraft as part of the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and the 7th edition of Aero Gatineau-Ottawa.

The GhostWriter and 130 drones will light up the sky as part of an evening performance
The organization is proud to announce the return of its jaw-dropping evening performance on Friday, September 6, featuring formation flights at dusk, and the spectacular Chipmunk GhostWriter, which can climb 2,500 feet in one minute!

The GhostWriter will light up the night with over 200 pounds of pyro and LED lights in red, white and blue – the colours of Aero Gatineau-Ottawa’s 2024 edition.
Under the darkened skies, Groupe Royal Pyro will take over with their “Fusion Drone Shows“, featuring 130 drones performing a luminous and musical waltz that will amaze young and old like never before.

An enhanced experience
For Aero Gatineau-Ottawa organizers, continuous growth means continuous improvement.

“Every year, we survey our visitors to get a sense of their satisfaction with the event. While the satisfaction rate is generally very high, we’re always looking to see how we can improve, while still offering an up close and personal experience,” says the event’s CEO, John Bennett.

Regular visitors to the event will discover a remodeled site to facilitate the flow of the ever-growing public. The experience will also be enhanced with an increase in signage, an improved family zone, and an expanded culinary offering and bar featuring regional flavours.

Several measures will also be put in place to organize a responsible event and reduce our environmental impact, with the aim of being carbon neutral by 2025.
