Aero Gatineau-Ottawa reaches new heights

Gatineau, September 17, 2023 – As the 6th edition of Aero Gatineau-Ottawa comes to a close, organizers are reflecting positively on the event.
“This has been our best edition to date,” says John Bennett, President of the organization. “We couldn’t have asked for better weather and better performances.”

In all, more than 20,000 people passed through the gates over a stunningly beautiful weekend, with the event selling out on Friday and Saturday – 2 out of 3 days.
The weekend’s highlight was undoubtedly the addition of the evening performances on Friday, including the Snowbirds’ twilight flight and Royal Pyrotechnie’s drone show, which amazed all visitors and pilots on site.

Growing rapidly since 2017, Aero Gatineau-Ottawa aims to improve with each edition, from a programming and organizational perspective as well as for the visitor experience. And this year, those improvements were on display.

“Our vision is to become Canada’s most popular air show, for pilots and visitors alike, and based on the smiles we saw on everyone’s faces all weekend, we’re well on our way to achieving that!” says Bennett.

Aero Gatineau-Ottawa would like to acknowledge the commitment of its 250 passionate and dedicated volunteers, as well as the financial support of the Ville et de Gatineau, the Government of Quebec and Tourisme Outaouais.

Next year, Aero Gatineau-Ottawa will be moving one week earlier, to September 6 to 8, 2024. Already, the growing event is promising a historic program, with the confirmation of the spectacular American demonstration team from the US Air Force, the Thunderbirds. Further announcements will be made in the coming months. Stay tuned!
